Community is the Heart of Luther College

At Luther College, students find more than just an education – they find a community. Our caring and supportive environment helps students thrive both academically and personally. Many students say Luther feels like a family, offering the support they need to succeed. Parents appreciate being part of the school community, and participating in social, cultural, fundraising, and athletic events.

A Place to Belong

Starting high school can be a daunting time, full of anxiety and worry about friends, fitting in, and finding your place as a young adult. Luther College has been around for over 100 years, and along the way, we’ve learned a thing or two about how to support and help our students in all aspects of their lives. We’re here to help you become a well-rounded and well-adjusted young adult. Whether through events, clubs, or everyday interactions, you’ll form lifelong friendships and have enriching experiences.

Supportive and Diverse Community

For over 100 years, Luther College has welcomed international students, whether they come with family or on their own. Our global community is something we’re proud of, with alumni on every continent—many even choose to stay in Canada after their time here.

Our international students find it easy to make friends and feel at home, thanks to our supportive community. We celebrate diversity through events like the Language Exchange, where students gather to share and learn from each other. Multicultural Night is an annual highlight, featuring food, performances, and presentations from different cultures. Our dormitory and cafeteria also celebrate various cultures and cuisines, making everyone feel included.

“Luther was more than just a school for me; it was a community. There are various opportunities such as L.I.T. and the All-College banquet for students to participate and contribute to fostering a welcoming environment for all. But it is also important to know that it’s all about putting yourself out there and participating in these different activities. It may feel awkward at first to be outside your comfort zone, but these are the moments that will help you grow as an individual.”
