Drivers Ed

Drivers Education

Students must be 15 years of age to enroll in Driver Education. Students must have completed the Driver Education authorization form and have obtained an SGI customer number prior to the start of their session in order to be eligible to take the class.

Classes typically run Monday to Thursday, 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. in Room 118 (with the exception of September 19 and February 5, class will be held in room 117). Please note all sessions are 30 hours in length as mandated by SGI and students must complete six hours of driving time. There is no cost.

Sessions fill up very quickly on a first come, first serve basis. There is a limit of 30 participants per session. Students who sign up for a session but do not attend, nor notify the office of their withdrawal, may be subject to a $500 fee posted to the student’s account and may be ineligible to register in subsequent driver education sessions. 

Luther College reserves the right to cancel or alter dates for Driver Education sessions in order to ensure there are enough students in each session.

2024-25 Driver Training Session Dates

Session One:

September 2024: 9, 10, 11, 12, 16, 17, 18, 19, 23, 24, 25 & 26.
October 2024: 1, 2, & 3.

Session Two:

November 2024: 12, 13, 14, 15, 18, 19, 20,22, 25, 26, 27 & 28.
December 2024: 2, 3 & 4. 

Session Three:

February 2025:  3, 4,5, 10, 11, 12, 13, 24, 25, 26 & 27.
March 2025: 3, 4, 5 & 6.

Session Four:

April 2025: 14, 15, 16, 17, 28, 29, & 30.
May 2025: 1, 5, 6, 7, 8, 12, 14 & 15
