Position Overview:
The Computer Science Department at Luther College invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching, research, and service within the field of computer science.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching: Deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in computer science, including but not limited to algorithms, data structures, software engineering, and artificial intelligence.
- Research: Develop and sustain a robust research agenda, publish in peer-reviewed journals, and contribute to the academic community through conferences and collaborations.
- Service: Participate in departmental, college, and university committees; advise students; and contribute to curriculum development and program enhancement.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field.
- Strong record of research achievements and publications in reputable journals and conferences.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching and commitment to student success.
- Ability to contribute to the department’s mission and collaborate with colleagues in a collegial and supportive environment.
- Post-doctoral experience and a record of securing research funding are desirable but not required.
Salary:
The expected salary for this position ranges from CAD $85,000 to CAD $120,000 per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
